Know any good leek recipes?

Posted on

I am a huge fan of leeks. Maybe it’s because I’m Welsh and am therefore obligated to adore them. Most probably it’s because of their delicious taste and the fact that I can use them in place of onion and not end up stinking for the rest of the night.

If you love leeks as much as I do, you might want to check out Lovethegarden‘s competition. Basically, they’re big fans of cooking things grown in your own garden and as it’s fast approaching the time to harvest winter leeks they’re making their first recipe blog competition of 2012 leek focussed.

Lovely, lovely leeks

If you’re a British blogger, you can enter this competition by sharing your favourite leek recipe. The competition will be judged by Kerstin Rodgers who is a food blogger, host of the Secret Garden Club and @MsMarmitelover on Twitter. The first prize gets a restaurant voucher worth £200 (woot!) and three runners up will get a copy of Kerstin’s book, Supper Club.

If you want to enter, you have to do three things.

  1. Write a blog post about the best leek recipe you know
  2. Make sure this Spring-a-Leek competition is mentioned
  3. E-mail the URL of your blog post to before April 8th, 2011

Also, if you fancy it, leave a comment on this post with the link to your post and we’ll check it out! Or tweet it to us at @KitchenBitching. Either way, we’d love to see your recipes! Good luck, and good leeking!

Love, Hells Bells x
